- It’s going to be on a farm with a big red barn in the background, for great picturesque scenery. Outside the barn, not in, because I want the nice wind to blow through and refresh everyone!!
- You’re gonna have to bring your own blankets to sit on the ground, ‘cause we can’t afford chairs or blankets for everyone and we definitely don’t have enough barrels at the farm!!
- PLEASE DON’T DRIVE. You’re gonna have to walk, ride your horse or cow, or SOMETHING. No room for cars, unless you park away from the farm, which is about five miles. So wear your boots or tennis shoes for superb comfort.
- All the groomsmen will wear jean overalls over button down, checkered shirt. They’ll have nice cowboy boots on with their hats, of course.
- Also, the bridesmaids will all wear their hair in two braids hanging down on each side. They will wear flowy jean skirts with checkered button down shirts. They will also have on cowgirl boots and hats, coordinating with their groomsman.
- My flower girls will be throwing horse shoes. This will encourage congregational participation in a nice, intense game of dodge ball… Except it’s horse shoes, which makes it all the more exciting!!
- When my father and I start making our way down the “aisle”, a trio of a banjo, fiddle, and bongo professionals will play the Wedding March—with a twist.
- My father is gonna come riding through the crowd on a cow, pulling a lime green and hot pink wheelbarrow behind him, with me in it!! Don’t worry, there be a nice little slide coming out the back of the wheelbarrow for a more graceful exit.
- I get real tired of all the frills, ruffles, and elegance all brides get so worked up about. I’ll have a nice, traditional white wedding dress, but I’ll have cowgirl boots on, my hair will hang in two braids, and I’ll wear my awesome cowgirl hat!
- At the reception, instead of having chocolate covered pretzels, and those traditional delicacies of wedding receptions, we’ll be bobbing for apples, and then we’ll have a fountain of caramel and chopped peanuts to cover your apple.
- BE PREPARED. At the reception, the same wheelbarrow I rode around in will be brought around to each blanket to collect money. PLEASE BRING CASH!
Any tips or suggestions??? Feel free to comment and LET ‘EM OUT!!:) Thanks!!
