Another Must-Have Recipe Every Cook Should Know About!!

Here is another WONDERFUL recipe from ME, Chef Cara! I get better at this every time! Rachael Ray ain’t got NOTHIN ON ME! I’m about to give you the recipe for HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE VINEGAR CAKE! Follow the directions carefully.

Yummy Chocolate Vinegar Cake

You’ll need:

  • 1/3 Cup Cocoa
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 and ¾ Cup Flour
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/3 Cup Oil
  • 2 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
Now, I know, we’re getting fancy here but I TOLD you it was going to get more advanced. So just stick with me…and don’t get your jets all in a spin too fast.

NOW, you’ve got to mix the cocoa, sugar, flour, water, and oil together in one big bowl. Get a whisk (If ya don’t know what a whisk is, use any sort of device that could be used to stir stuff with) and mix er’ all up real good.

In another bowl, put the vinegar in, and then add the baking soda. Mix that up with the spoon or whisk.

When that stops bubbling, add the vanilla, mix again, and pour that mixture into the other bowl.

NOW, grease a pan. If you don't have a cake pan, a frying pan will do. If you don’t have cooking spray to grease it with, just rub whatever kind of oil you have on hand around in it. I used Pennzoil in mine. Make sure your oven is set to 350 and then bake for 15-20 minutes.

Making homemade icing is quite a ordeal, so in this case, Duncan Hines from WalMart wins. You'll have to frost it using a spatula...a spatula looks like THIS:

If you followed all the directions carefully, the cake should come out as shown below!

Happy eating!!:) Oh, and be sure and tell me how YOURS turned out!!:)
